SAM Wood admits he was left worried about his future at Wanderers after the man who took him to Adams Park was sacked.
The 26-year-old was brought in by former Blues boss Gary Waddock from Brentford over the summer and the winger settled into the team straight away.
A series of good performances in pre-season and an encouraging start to the campaign proper meant it looked like Wood was going to be a key player for Waddock.
But the winger injured his knee and during a lengthy spell on the sidelines Waddock was shown the door by the Wanderers board.
Asked if that worried him, Wood said: "It did if I'm honest. He's brought me in and he liked the way I play. I was a little bit gutted not to work with him a little bit more in the league.
"He was a really nice guy and with the three points [at York in the first game] we started well.
"The results didn't go our way and things didn't work out for him. I would have liked to have worked with him throughout the season."
But he added: "Things have had to change and we've picked up again. Gaz has stamped his authority when it comes to matches and training and it's working."
