GARETH Ainsworth has called for one of his strikers to take responsibility for getting the goals as Wanderers look to break their winless run at Burton Albion tonight.

Blues looked to be heading in the right direction with a six game unbeaten streak, but that's now been followed by a run of just one point from a possible 12.

Ainsworth's men have only managed one goal in those four games and that came from the penalty spot.

It prompted the Blues boss to say after Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by leaders Rochdale: "That performance was good enough, it’s just that final thing of sticking the ball in the back of the net. It’s so precious at this stage of the season.

"We know we can do it - we just need someone to take the mantle and start scoring goals to keep the club in the Football League."

If Wanderers are to get out of trouble they need to take advantage of the fact the sides around them at the foot of the table are also continuing to haemorrhage points.

The likes of Northampton, Portsmouth and Mansfield are all also going through patchy runs of form but Wanderers' own losing streak means they've been unable to give themselves more breathing space at the foot of the table.

There's a full set of fixtures in League Two tonight, with many of the sides at the bottom facing teams battling it out for promotion.

Wanderers are one of those sides however as tonight's opponents Burton sit in fifth position and seemingly on course for a play-off place.

But if Blues are looking for crumbs of comfort ahead of their trip north, they can point to the fact the Brewers have only won one of their last five on home soil.
