PETER Murphy is on a four man shortlist for August's League Two player of the month.
The midfielder has made an instant impression in the middle of the park since signing from Accrington Stanley in the summer, scoring three goals in his first five matches.
Striking duo Kevin Ellison of Morecambe and AFC Wimbledon's Matt Tubbs have also been shortlisted for the award, as has Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Trevor Carson.
The award winner is announced on Friday.
Gareth Ainsworth missed out on a nomination for manager of the month despite guiding Wanderers to ten points from the first five games of the season, with Jim Bentley, Mickey Mellon, Gary Rowett and Mark Yates all being put forward for the gong.
