ROTHERHAM manager Steve Evans said Danny Rowe won't be going anywhere other than back to Wycombe Wanderers this season.

A string of injuries to defenders forced the Millers boss into recalling Rowe early from his second loan spell at Adams Park.

Rowe was among the substitutes as the Yorkshire side were defeated by Mick McCarthy's Ipswich on Saturday and he's likely to be included in the squad that faces Blackburn Rovers tonight.

Evans said the 18-year-old would have started the weekend's game if Icelandic international Kari Arnason had failed a fitness test.

And the Scotsman has opened the door for Rowe to go back to Wanderers by saying Gareth Ainsworth's the only other manager he wants his man to play under.

He said other teams have expressed an interest in the defender but felt Adams Park is the right place for him to improve as a player.

Evans told the official Rotherham website: "If Kari Arnason hadn't been fit for Saturday Danny Rowe would have played, that's why we re-called him. He's been doing very well at Wycombe and it was a big decision to make.

"If Arnie [Arnason] had missed [the game] then young Danny Rowe would have made his debut, which would have been a testing game for him, but he is a young man we think highly of.

"When we clear one or two niggles up he will be allowed to return to Wycombe even though I've had calls from other League One and League Two clubs. He won't be going anywhere else - if he goes back out the door then it will only be back to Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe."

Rowe made nine appearances in his most recent loan spell, having played seven times at the back end of last season.
