GARETH Ainsworth has challenged his players to start another unbeaten run and prove Tuesday night's defeat by Exeter City was just a blip.

The proud ten match run without defeat that carried Blues to the top of the table came to an end in midweek, as Wanderers lost 2-1 despite taking the lead.

Losing is a sensation Wanderers players and fans had almost forgotten about this season, with Tuesday's loss only their second in 14 League Two matches.

But after last season's tribulations Ainsworth is acutely aware just how quickly fortunes can turn - and has challenged his side to get straight back into the winning habit, starting against Dagenham and Redbridge at Adams Park tomorrow.

He said: "I went on a longer not winning run last year, so I know more than most not to get carried away. This game can go either way very quickly.

"Everyone so far has helped to achieve what we have achieved, to make this a little blip and make sure we get back to winning ways as soon as we can.

"Getting more points on the board is really important. We want to do that as quickly as we can and it goes hand in hand we want to beat Dagenham on Saturday to add to our points total."

The Blues boss said he hopes to learn more about his players from their reaction to losing, after admitting to being beaten by the better team on Tuesday.

He said: "I learnt a couple of things from a few players. We'll keep it private but I think I'm pretty nailed on about the little things that aided to us losing that game.

"We created a lot of chances. When we got beaten by Tranmere we created a lot of chances then.

"There were games last year where we lost, it was a horrible game and we didn't have a shot on target. To get back to those days is something I won't do."

Ainsworth added: "It's really early days still and it's a good start - 28 points at this stage of the season is probably more than anyone would have expected and we need to keep adding to it."
