COMPLACENCY won't be a concern for Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth as his side prepare for a top versus bottom clash tomorrow.

Opponents Hartlepool sit well adrift of safety and have picked up a solitary point from their last six matches - meaning Ainsworth's men are favourites to continue their good run of form.

But the Blues boss warned that will only happen if the squad prepare in the right way, rather than expect to pick up the points simply from turning up.

He said: "There won't be any complacency thinking Hartlepool are bottom and we're top. We only have to look around the size of the squad to know we are potential a couple of scenarios away from a real uphill battle.

"It will be nice to go up with the attitude of treating this one exactly the same as we did Burton and Cheltenham. They deserve that respect.

"They've got a new manager and signed a couple of new players. We have to think we were like them last year, fighting for their lives - you need the effort when you're down there."

News Pools boss Paul Murray this week signed four players in a bid to arrest his side's slump, with former Middlesbrough man Stuart Parnaby ruled out for the rest of the season.

The injury news is better for Wanderers, with Ainsworth optimistic some of the players who missed Saturday's trip to Cheltenham will be available for the long haul to the north east.

Alfie Mawson is likely to be fit after missing the Cheltenham game through concussion.
