Colchester United midfielder Marcus Bean could be in line to join Wycombe Wanderers.
The Bucks Free Press understands the 28-year-old is set to snub Portsmouth, where he has been on loan, to sign for Gareth Ainsworth's side.
The one-time Jamaica international had been on loan at Portsmouth, with his deal coming to an end earlier this week after making six starts.
Pompey had wanted to bring him back to Fratton Park on a longer term deal, but he is set to turn down the attentions of the 2010 FA Cup finalists to make the move to Adams Park.
Bean is one of four Colchester players who had been sent out on loan in recent weeks after being told they have no future at the Essex club by recently-installed manager Tony Humes.
