Wanderers fan favourite Josh Scowen has signed for League One side Barnsley on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The clubs have not revealed how much Scowen will cost Danny Wilson’s side, but Wanderers have decided to cash in with his contract due to expire in the summer.
The lure of a new three-year deal was not enough to tempt the 21-year-old to stay.
The midfielder becomes the fourth player to leave the Chairboys in the transfer window following the departures of Anthony Stewart, Stuart Lewis and Paris Cowan-Hall.
Wycombe have also lost the experienced presence of Gary Doherty who retired after failing to overcome injury.
Scowen came through the youth set-up at Wanderers before making his first team debut in 2011. He went onto make exactly 100 appearances for the Blues.
