Wanderers chairman Andrew Howard hopes to finalise details of the club’s proposed trip to Europe for a pre-season tour in the near future.

It was revealed last month that Wycombe proposed to head to France in pre-season, probably in July, as they begin their preparations for the 2015/16 season.

Speaking at the Wycombe Wanderers Trust community share scheme launch on Thursday evening Howard gave an update on the proposed trip.

He said: “We’ve set something up in France. It isn’t all finalised yet – I’ve got a meeting with a hotelier at 8:30am tomorrow morning (Friday). What we’re hoping to do is have two games over there.

“We’re hoping to have the second game against a National One league team, which has a stadium of about 3,000. What we’re hoping to do, working with the commercial team, is put a package together for fans to come out there.

“From our point of view we want the lads to be able to train for three or four days and then we’d love it if the fans could come out. We’re going to try to work with some travel agents so people can come and spend a couple of days out there and then come and watch some football as well.

“It’s just another way of us getting the team together. It’s critical that we get the team together early on in the season.”
