Garry Thompson has become Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth's first summer signing.

The 34-year-old has today penned a two year deal after joining from relegated Notts County, having scored 12 times as the Magpies dropped out of League One last term.

Thompson is a former strike partner of current Chairboys captain Paul Hayes, with the pair firing the Iron to promotion to the Championship in 2009.

He was also part of the Bradford City that reached the League Cup final in 2013, scoring against Arsenal in the quarter finals, and laid on two goals as the Bantams beat Northampton Town in the play off final a few months later.

Ainsworth said: "Garry is a fantastic professional who will score goals and bring a new dimension to our attack, and I’m delighted we’ve been able to sign him.

"He’s got great experience, he’ll be an important character around the dressing room and his record speaks for itself in terms of what he’s achieved in his career."

Thompson can play either in attack or wide midfield and has more than 500 professional appearances to his name.
