CRYSTAL Palace starlet Reise Allassani spent last week at Adams Park as Wycombe Wanderers continue to build links with the big boys.

The Premiership club’s former England U16, U17 and U18s attacker trained with the Blues and joined up with them again for last Saturday’s match at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “Reise is one of Crystal Palace’s young starlets and they wanted him to get some experience around a first-team squad.

“He was here for a week and he got to see how things are done at League Two level and he got to see just what it means on a Saturday at League Two level and how it is life or death which is totally different to U21 football where it is more about their development.

“It’s good for us to have a relationship where a Premier League club will trust us to take one of their players and give him a little bit of experience about being around a first team to show him how it is done.

“Palace wanted Reise to have a look at it because it is totally different from Under-21 football or reserve football and we were happy to help out.”

The Wanderers manager added: “It’s something we are open to. Keeping relationships open with clubs like Palace and Aston Villa, QPR and Reading is good.

“It’s good we are known as a club with a history of bringing on youngsters who have then moved on to higher things.”

And those relationships with the big clubs could prove to be key further down the line when Ainsworth is looking to bring players in on loan to bolster his Wycombe first-team squad.
