Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth would like to avoid a local grudge match with Chesham United in the second round of the FA Cup.

The Blues booked their place in the pot for round two with a 4-0 win at Halifax on Sunday and are aiming to reach the third round for the first time under Ainsworth.

Chesham produced a stunning giant killing act as they overcame League Two Bristol Rovers 1-0 at the Memorial Ground.

Despite sitting 78 places above Chesham on the football league ladder Ainsworth is eager to avoid the derby tie that many Wycombe fans are craving.

He said: “Be careful what you wish for. Chesham is just down the road and you never know what that local atmosphere can do.

“We missed out on Liverpool last year and we would like to get a big tie this year and would very much like to go under the radar in the draw.”

The draw will be made on BBC Two at 7pm tonight and Wycombe will be the number 24 ball with ties being played across the weekend of 4-7 December.
