Jason McCarthy will stay at Wycombe Wanderers on loan until Sunday January 3 after extending his initial one-month stay.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who is on loan from Southampton, has played in all five of Wanderers' matches since arriving at Adams Park at the start of last month.
He has quickly established himself as an important part of Gareth Ainsworth’s side and the manager has repeatedly praised the youngster for adapting to League Two football so well.
Ainsworth said: “He’s shown that he can adapt to the physical side of League Two football as well as play out from the back. I am delighted that he’ll remain an important part of our club for another eight weeks."
