THE physio room at Adams Park hasn't quite been like the film set of Casualty, but Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth will be glad to see the space overflowing.

The start of the League Two campaign has been beset by injuries, but Ainsworth is hopeful to see a few of the absentees back in training.

Full-back Joe Jacobson and loan winger Paris Cowan-Hall have both recently returned to the first team after injury. And with the weekend trip to Yeovil in sharp focus, Ainsworth knows he will have a few more resources to choose from shortly.

Midfielders Marcus Bean and Luke O'Nien, along with winger Myles Weston are all expected to return to training in the next week or two, and possibly be in contention for the first team by the end of the month.

"All three will be coming back pretty soon," said Ainsworth. "They will come in at the bottom and they will have raise their levels to get into the squad. Everyone in the squad will have to be on their toes to keep their shirts.

"This is a squad game now. Just look at the top level where Wayne Rooney has had to make way for some youngsters who are coming through and are in-form. That's what it is all about.

"I have got to pick the best 11 - not the best 11 individuals, but the best team. And I think the lads will be very aware of that."

Ainsworth doesn't believe his team have shown their best yet this season, hamstrung by injuries. And he is cautious about bringing back players too quickly. His policy is that the player has to come back fitter and stronger than before they had the injury.

"And we are going to keep to that rule," added Ainsworth. "We might sacrifice the odd point here or there,  but in the long run it will all work out.

" I would say that all three are three weeks away from making appearances, and within a week or two weeks of returning to training. So that if fantastic."

Defender Max Muller remains sidelined with a hamstring injury which has kept the 22-year-old out of making a start since his summer signing from Austrian side Salzburg, and Dale Southwell is recovering from a thigh injury picked up in training and has not featured since scoring the winner against  Stevenage last month.

Ainsworth added: "We have got a lot of players coming back, so my problem is choosing my best 11 or 15. It will be tough but it is a fantastic problem to have as a manager."
