CHESTERFIELD stand between Wycombe Wanderers and the third round of the FA Cup.
As ball 18, they were drawn fourth out of the hat in tonight's second round draw, and will travel to the Proact Stadium on December 3.
League 1 Chesterfield won 2-1 at Colchester in the first round on Saturday, but have struggled in the league, lying one from bottom with just three wins from 16 starts.
Wycombe claimed their place in the second round following a 2-1 victory at Portsmouth on Saturday. Goals from Paris Cowan-Hall and Adebayo Akenfenwa ensured a place in the second round hat.
Their reward from the weekend win was a day off from training today (Monday) ahead of Wednesday's Checkatrade Trophy tie against Coventry City at Adams Park on Wednesday.
The draw at Southport Football Club was made by two Merseyside FA Cup legends, Everton striker Graeme Sharpe and Liverpool defender, Jim Beglin.
Tickets for Wednesday evening's Checkatrade game cost just £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s, and can be purchased from the club’s ticket office by calling 01494 441118, visiting the shop at Adams Park, or booking online.
