WYCOMBE Wanderers missed out on a money-spinning clash with a Premier League side after the draw was made for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup this evening.
While neighbours Reading earned a mouth-watering tie at Manchester United. the Chairboys could be paired with the lowest ranked team left in the competition.
Non League Stoubridge United, who compete in the seventh-tier Northern Premier League Premier Division, could travel to Adams Park in the New Year if they see off Northampton Town in their second round tie.
Their game on Sunday was postponed because of a frozen pitch at the War Memorial Athletic Ground, so they will try again on December 13.
Wycombe have already faced Northampton Town this season, beating them convincingly 3-0 in the Checkatrade Trophy at Sixfields Stadium in August.
The Cobblers are currently 17th in League One, but Gareth Ainsworth's side will have no fear after pulling off the performance of the second round on Saturday with a 5-0 thrashing at another League One outfit, Chesterfield.
The draw was made this evening, and the match is scheduled for the weekend of January 6-9 - most likely to be played on Saturday, January 7 unless TV choose to broadcast the match live.
