Gareth Ainsworth hopes star duo Aaron Pierre and Marcus Bean put pen to paper on their new deals offered to them recently.
Bean had an excellent second half of last season and has known Ainsworth since their QPR playing days together and Pierre is one of the most sough after defenders in the lower leagues.
Ainsworth issued an update today and is doing his best to keep both players at the club. He said: “Beany is an unsung hero for me. I want to keep Marcus as the guys like Dom Gape and Luke O’Nien can still learn from him. The offer is there and we are still talking with him. He was brilliant towards the end of last season.
“We have offered an improved deal to Aaron. Unfortunately a few top end League One clubs and a couple of Championship clubs have expressed an interest but nothing solid.
“I have been there as a footballer and we respect that Aaron wants to play as high as he can but if there is a club that doesn’t necessarily feel right for him, we here at Wycombe Wanderers definitely want to keep Aaron Pierre.”
