Tyrrell Hatton’s miserable run of form continued last week as he missed his fourth successive cut at the Scottish Open.
The 25-year-old fell just outside the cut line at Dundonald Links and his form approaching The Open at Royal Birkdale, which begins tomorrow, is a far cry from his stellar early-season campaign in Europe and the USA.
Hatton has played in a run of high-profile tournaments featuring some of the best players in the world but facets of his game are letting him down at the worst possible time.
The Harleyford professional is in the first real slump of his career and after reaching a high of number 15 in the world, he has now steadily fallen to 24th in the rankings.
Hatton said on Twitter following his missed cut in Scotland: “Gutted that putt lipped out on the last. Finding golf pretty hard right now."
He starts his Open campaign alongside Martin Kaymer and Aaron Baddeley.
