Wycombe defender Will De Havilland has been recalled after a successful loan spell at Aldershot and manager Gareth Ainsworth is looking forward to welcoming him back into the fold.

De Havilland will be competing against the likes of Adam El-Abd, Anthony Stewart and Dan Scarr for a place at centre half and Ainsworth feels De Havilland has a chance to force his way in to the reckoning.

He said: “Will was behind Anthony and Aaron Pierre last season and when they were out he got his chance in the team.

“I think his loan spell at Aldershot has been fantastic.

“He has played really well in games but recently has been kept out by injury. They replaced him and didn’t change their winning team.

“The reports I have had back from Will’s time at Aldershot have been brilliant and I am really pleased to be able to call on Will if I need to.

“He is up to sharpness with the loan and Will has come back here all smiles and ready to go and crack on here.”
