Wanderers defender Joe Jacobson explained it is still in Wycombe's hands to get that last automatic promotion spot, despite their heavy defeat to Accrington on Saturday.

The Blues suffered their first loss in eight games against the champions-elect and the Chairboys have two more matches to seal their dream of promotion.

jacobson admitted that the performance wasn't good enough but there would be no feeling down heading into such a big game.

He said: "We have to be positive. The gaffer is never one to breed negativity at the training ground.

"He is the most upbeat guy there is and he won't let anyone feel down about that.

"They have a saying here about dropping the weight. It has gone, you can't change it and you have to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Jacobson did praise Accrington, his old club, for their performance at Adams Park.

He added: "It wasn't our day but they showed why they are top of the table.

"I think they are the best team we have come across this season but we gave them a start in the game with the early goal and then they punished us really badly.

"After such a bad performance, to look at the table and see we are third picks you up a little bit and with two games to go it is in our hands and if we win both games we are up and where we want to be."
