Nathan Tyson explained there is a feeling of excitement round the club as Wanderers prepare for their final two games.

The jet-heeled Wycombe forward has had a superb season back at Adams Park, scoring plenty of important goals as the Blues go in search of automatic promotion.

He also signed a new one-year contact extension and the former Forest man was in bullish mood ahead of the trip to Chesterfield.

He said: "This reminds of the time I was at Forest. It has been 10 years since I was promoted.

"We got promoted in the final game of the season. We were in fourth place and preparing for the play-offs.

"Fortunately we ended up winning and Doncaster lost and Carlisle drew or lost.

"For us, two games to go it is very exciting. This is what we have trained for all year and what being a professional footballer is all about."

Looking ahead to the trip to Chesterfield, Tyson added: "There is a lot of politics going on at Chesterfield.

"I think it will be a tough game because there are players there playing for contracts, whether that will be at Chesterfield or somewhere else but I think if we get an early goal, I think we can put our foot down on the pedal and move into the next gear and take it to them."

Tyson has pledged his future at the club until June 2019 after signing a new deal earlier this week and he explained he was over the moon to sign on the dotted line.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted. Thanks to the gaffer, team-mates and everyone at the club. I am so grateful to be here.

"It is a fantastic club and I am very happy here and it was a very easy decision for me to make."
