This week’s Opposition View comes from Derbyshire Times reporter, Graham Smyth.

How has relegation been felt at the club?

Although it has been long feared and recently expected, it still felt like a final kick in the teeth for long-suffering supporters on Saturday.
There was anger and despair among the 600 travelling fans at Forest Green Rovers and of course concern for what lies ahead.

Has relegation come as a huge shock?

Not particularly, given the atrocious start to the season and the dawning realisation that the summer recruitment was desperately poor.
Fans have been resigned to their fate, while obviously harbouring ever-dwindling hopes of a last gasp reprieve that never came.

What now for Chesterfield? Will Ian Evatt be well received?

Now that Lester has gone, Ian Evatt is probably the one man at the club held in high esteem by the vast majority of the fanbase.

How do you rate Wycombe?

Gareth Ainsworth is doing a fantastic job and is the kind of manager Chesterfield should perhaps have looked to instead of appointing Gary Caldwell last year.

Who are Chesterfield’s dangermen?

Kristian Dennis is top goalscorer with 20 for the season, an excellent return in a struggling team.

Prediction?

Chesterfield are the kind of side who turn up when you least expect them to, so I could see a draw.
