Beavon 'deserves speculation' says team-mate Lewis

WANDERERS midfielder Stuart Lewis says team-mate Stuart Beavon deserves to be linked with a move to another team after an outstanding season.

The striker swept the board at the player of the year awards in May after scoring 25 goals in a struggling team, drawing admiring glances from clubs higher up the Football League.

His name continues to be linked with a move away from Adams Park and Lewis says he isn't surprised at the speculation.

He said: "He had a great season last year and played really well and scored some great goals. He deserves the speculation but it's good to have him with us and long may that continue.

"I'm not surprised with it. It's good to have him in a Wycombe shirt and hopefully that continues."
