WYCOMBE District Swimming Club's Andrew Allum travelled to the new Swansea International Pool last weekend to compete in the British Masters Championships.
His trip proved most successful when he won his 25-29 years age group 100m and 200m backstroke titles and placed third in the 50m backstroke event.
This was an rapid response to the mature athlete grant he received from Wycombe District Council this week.
Wycombe District Swimming Club went National Age Group Qualifying Times hunting last weekend.
The most successful swimmer was 13-year-old Katie Ambridge who gained her 400m individual medley time at Enfield on Friday and then joined the rest of the squad on Saturday at the Berks & S Bucks No Frills NQT Open meet in Aldershot.
Here she added the 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley times and just failed by one tenth for the 200m freestyle time.
James Crawford gained two long course qualifying times in the 14-years age group for the 100m butterfly and 400m individual medley while Anna Jemielity gained times in the 13-years 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.
Francesca Wright, 17, also claimed a qualifying time for the 17/18 years age.
