THERE'S more than just local bragging rights at stake in Saturday's derby clash with Oxford, says Wanderers captain Gary Doherty.

Blues are just outside the League Two relegation despite a recent upturn in form but they can pull to within a point of Oxford if they win the M40 derby at Adams Park.

The U's found some form on Saturday as Tom Craddock scored four times in a 5-0 battering of Accrington Stanley, but they go into this weekend's game on the back of a six match losing streak away from home.

And Doherty said Wanderers need to return to winning ways against the other strugglers in League Two.

He said: "We've got to start beating the sides around us to push us up the league.

"It's a big game, a home game and a derby. We need to be on it and hopefully get the three points."

Injury problems forced Wanderers to reshuffle the side that faced Barnet last night but Doherty is hopeful some of the missing faces return on Saturday.

He said: "Hopefully we'll have a few players back and it'll sharpen us up a bit."
