Gaz: Don't play if you're injured

BLUES boss Gareth Ainsworth wants players to own up if they're anything less than 100 per cent fit.

Wanderers have been beset by injury problems throughout the season and they're rearing their head again with a number of attackers currently nursing injuries.

And Ainsworth said he doesn't want to rush anyone straight back into the starting line-up, having already seen the negative effects it's had on the team's style of play.

He said: "Matt McClure was a prime example against Barnet, saying he wanted to play. That's what's happening - everyone wants to play for me at the moment.

"Matt was really only 90 per cent fit and put himself back a little bit.

"Against Plymouth Stuart Lewis told me he couldn't carry on after 30 minutes. I made it quite clear in the dressing room afterwards the bravest decision anyone made was Stuart Lewis saying he couldn't carry on, because it's not easy.

"You think you can but you're playing at 90 per cent, and you can't do it in today's professional game. Stuart Lewis was a good example that day. I hope people can follow his lead and if you're not fit, tell me, because I can't carry them."
