Archer targets longer stay
JORDAN Archer hasn't ruled out the possibility of extending his loan stay with Wanderers beyond January.
The goalkeeper replaced Nikki Bull in the team after rejoining Blues on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last week and kept a clean sheet against Aldershot on Tuesday.
Archer - who this week was called up to the Scotland U21 squad for their friendly against their Portugeuse counterparts in Setubal on Wednesday - is already proving a hit with the Wanderers fans in what is his second spell on loan with the club.
The 19-year-old is at Adams Park until January but is open to the idea of extending the deal when it expires.
He said: "I've enjoyed it here. They're a great bunch of lads and a great coach as well. I'm looking forward to the next few months down here and looking forward to helping the team out.
"I'll see it out to January and I'll be more than happy to stay here afterwards, but it's not down to me."
The Scotsman stole the show against the Shots with a jaw dropping triple save that might earn him the nickname Jordan Banks - not that he remembers much about it.
He said: "I just remember they were reaction saves. You don't really think much about it. When I did make the saves the ball was free and the defence was there to back me up and clear the ball."
Archer is set to keep goal for Wanderers against Rochdale this afternoon.
