GARETH Ainsworth has appealed to the missing Wycombe fans to return to Adams Park - promising exciting, attacking football.

Blues start a run of three successive home League Two games against Burton Albion tomorrow looking to turn things around, having won just once in front of their own fans all season.

Gates have dipped as a result, with just 3,020 coming through the turnstiles when Wanderers hosted Rochdale a fortnight ago.

But Ainsworth's message to the fans is a simple one - your support is vital if Blues are to turn their season around.

He said: "It would be great to see them. If they've heard the stories about the last three or four games, they'll know the attacking football and all action games are back.

"I don't want to jinx it with a 0-0 on Saturday but I'm sure there's goals in the game. The way we're playing at the moment there's chances and hopefully we can start turning them into goals.

"I really believe we are playing exciting, attacking football, which is what I want to do.

"It's a good spectacle down at Adams Park now. If you haven't been for a while, maybe it would be nice for you to come down and see what we're about."

The Wanderers boss added: "I want to bridge that gap between players and fans and get them all down here and get the place buzzing again. When we got promoted we had huge amounts coming down towards the end of the season.

"The ones who've been there the last couple of games have been fantastic. Earlier on in the season they were a little bit quiet, now they are staying behind at games and singing players' names and really getting behind us.

"Keep coming down and hopefully we can keep this exciting never say die attitude, which is definitely paying off."
