STUART Lewis said his first season as captain has been a test of character.
The combative midfielder, who was handed the armband by manager Gareth Ainsworth at the start of the season, admitted he had endured a tough time in his first season of leading the team.
But he said he's not about to relinquish the role, saying it's a challenge he enjoys.
Lewis said: "I've come in for a bit of stick at times but if anyone knows me and is honest they'll say I will give everything I've got.
"It's been tough at times. I'd rather be higher up the table like everyone else, but we are where we are and over the next five games I'll continue to give my all.
"You learn about yourself more in those times. It's how you come out of them.
"If I can finish the season well and move us up the league, that will be good for me and for the club."
He added: "It's been a good year as well being captain of the club. I've enjoyed that leadership side of things and hope it continues."
