WANDERERS have made enquiries about bringing Stuart Beavon back to Adams Park - but the deal could prove too expensive for the club.

The striker moved to Preston North End in August 2012 off the back of scoring 25 goals for Blues in League One the previous season.

He played for the Lilywhites 33 times last year but that hasn't stopped Wanderers from asking about the possibility of taking him back on loan.

However the cost of the transfer is likely to lead to any deal being scuppered.

Wanderers Trust director David Roberton said: "We would like Stuart Beavon to come back. Whether or not he's going to be allowed out on loan from Preston, we don't yet know.

"We spoke to Preston last week. I would doubt if we had the chance - it would probably be too expensive."
