WANDERERS will begin the new season with a trip across the Severn Bridge to Newport County.

The Welsh side will host Blues on the opening day of the new League Two season on August 9.

A week later Carlisle United will be the first visitors to Adams Park before another side relegated from League One at the end of last season, Tranmere Rovers, arrive in town for a Tuesday night fixture.

Trips to Stevenage and York City then conclude the opening month of the new campaign.

Newly-promoted Luton Town are at Adams Park on Boxing Day before Blues travel to Shrewsbury Town - the side they pipped to automatic promotion to League One in 2011 - two days later.

Gary Waddock's Oxford United visit town on Easter Saturday, in a game which if recent history is anything to go by is likely to be moved to Good Friday, before the season ends with a trip to Northampton Town.

Mansfield Town, who saved Wanderers from the drop on the final day of last season with a win at Bristol Rovers, play at Adams Park on September 13.

See Friday's Bucks Free Press for the full fixture list for the new season.
