BLUES boss Gareth Ainsworth said he'll be going all out to beat Coventry City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tonight to get his players into the winning groove.

Wanderers have reached the area quarter finals of the competition in each of the last two seasons and Ainsworth wants another cup run this year to breed the winning habit at Adams Park.

Competition rules stipulate sides have to play at least six first team regulars - and Ainsworth said although he may be tempted to tinker against the Sky Blues this evening, he won't be making wholesale changes.

He said: "It may be the ones on the fringe could get a look in. We want to win on Tuesday, no doubt about that. I want to beat Coventry and I believe any XI I can put out will have a chance against Coventry.

"Tuesday's going to be another important game for me. If there's any knocks or injuries - there were a couple limping at the end - we'll have to address that.

"There's certain positions slightly older than others and we'll have to address that, but me and Baz [goalkeeping coach Barry Richardson] definitely won't be playing."

Ainsworth added: "The rules state you have to play a strong team. We want to beat Coventry. A cup run's great - winning breeds winning.

"Hopefully we can get the ball down and start playing some of the stuff we've shown so far."

Wanderers eliminated League One opponents in each of the last two Johnstone's Paint Trophy competitions, knocking out Bristol City last year and Portsmouth the season before that, and Blues will be looking to make it a hat trick tonight.

For Coventry, it's the last match the 1987 FA Cup winners will play before their long-awaited return to the Ricoh Arena in their home city after more than a year's exile playing home fixtures at Northampton Town's Sixfields ground.
