STEVEN Craig could play a part for Wanderers at the weekend despite being concussed in Saturday's draw with Bury - but manager Gareth Ainsworth said he won't risk him.

The striker landed on his neck following an aerial duel with the sizeable frame of Pablo Mills and was treated on the pitch for nearly ten minutes before being carried off on a stretcher.

Tests showed the 33-year-old suffered a concussion and Football League protocols on head injuries barred him from taking part in full training this week.

Craig will have to rest up for six days as a result, although he was still able to take part in gym work and running.

It means he could potentially be available for selection on Saturday - but Ainsworth said he's not prepared to take any unnecessary risks.

The Blues boss said: "Stevie is very touch and go. If I have to err on caution on Stevie then I definitely will do. I'm not about to risk anyone's livelihood.

"He's a tough character. I think he said he was ready to play again on Sunday or Monday, but that's the tough Scotsman we've got.

"He's going to be well looked after by the doctor and the medical team before he gets competitive again.

"If he doesn't make it I know who our biggest fan in stand will be, and that's Stevie Craig. He's that kind of person."
