WANDERERS' most important signings over the summer weren't players, manager Gareth Ainsworth said.

With such a small squad at his disposal it's key to any success Ainsworth enjoys that he has as many players as possible fit for selection.

And he said his medical staff have just as big a role to play this season as anyone who pulls on a playing kit on a Saturday afternoon.

The Blues boss said: "David Wates and Cian O'Doherty are two of the biggest signings I have made, because they need to keep everyone fit. There will be times when we are stretched."
