FORMER Premier League and international star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be a surprise face in the opposition dugout at Adams Park as the Sky TV cameras arrive in town on Monday night.

The ex Chelsea player was confirmed as the new manager of Burton Albion yesterday and he will take charge of his new side for the first time against Wanderers in a top of the table clash.

The sides were first and second in League Two when Sky announced they would be covering the game, but Hasselbaink's high profile means more of the pre-match focus is likely to be on Wanderers' opponents rather than the league leaders.

Burton have slipped to fifth in the upheaval following previous manager Gary Rowett's defection to Championship side Birmingham City, but Ainsworth said the Brewers are still the favourites to claim the league title.

He said: "It's a fantastic appointment - what a good statement for League Two. The expectations will be higher at Burton now with him in charge. He's been a manager and a coach at the top level - they are going to be really tough now.

"Gary Rowett knows this level really well and they made the play offs a couple of years running. He's left a strong team and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be taking over that. We'll have to be wary of Burton because they are one of the strongest teams and favourites for the title.

"We'll have to be right on our game to produce anything against one of the strongest teams in the division."

Monday night's game will be the first time Wanderers have featured on TV since last February - when they sprang a surprise in beating then-leaders Gillingham 1-0 at Priestfield - and the first time camera crews have been to Adams Park since the 6-0 thrashing inflicted by Huddersfield Town in January 2012.

Ainsworth said: "We haven't had a Sky game for a while. We aim to put on a good show, as we always do - I believe we've got the squad to do that.

"There will be plenty of interest in the appointment of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton."

Former Wanderers favourite Stuart Beavon will lead the line for Burton but another ex Blue, John Mousinho, is fighting a losing battle to be fit in time.

Hasselbaink's first headache will be to decide who to play in goal, after first choice stopper Dean Lyness suffered a suspected broken leg in training yesterday.

Aaron Pierre and Josh Scowen will both be suspended for Blues, who only have Gary Doherty as a definite injury absentee. Ainsworth said yesterday the former Ireland international is expected to be back in first team contention next month.
