LUTON Town fans have been allocated the Beechdean Stand for the Boxing Day game at Adams Park - while the match has been made all ticket for both sets of supporters.

Wanderers have opted to give what is normally a home fans-only area over to visiting supporters after Luton's initial allocation of 1,800 tickets was quickly snapped up.

The club said today they had made the decision due to the "phenomenal demand for tickets" from Luton supporters.

In a statement the club said: "Wanderers’ ticket office staff have made contact with affected season ticket holders to explain the situation and ask them to choose an alternative stand for this fixture.

"We would like to thank fans for their understanding on this matter, which will enable the club to benefit from enhanced ticket revenue at a time when Wasps’ departure from Adams Park will deliver a financial blow."

Home fans will also have to buy tickets for all areas of the ground in advance. The cut-off point for buying tickets is 1pm on Christmas Eve.

The Beechdean Stand has been used for housing away fans before, with 3,000 Port Vale fans attending Adams Park on the final day of the 2012/13 season to see their side win promotion.
