WANDERERS manager Gareth Ainsworth said fans need to look at the bigger picture as his men bid to get their season back on track at Cheltenham Town.

A ten match unbeaten run took Blues all the way to the top of the table, but a relative stutter of two defeats in four games has dropped them to third.

But Ainsworth said: "If anybody had said before a ball was kicked we'd be sitting third in the league at the end of November, I don't think many Wycombe fans would have turned that down, and I certainly wouldn't.

"We've done fantastically well to be where we are in the league. There's some teams who've been knocked out the FA Cup by non league sides, teams who've not found their feet in the league yet - we are much better off than those teams."

One of those teams are tomorrow's opponents, who have lost their last three league matches and shipped nine goals in the process.

Whilst Ainsworth will be looking for a reaction from his players after the midweek loss to Burton, his opposite number Mark Yates will be doing likewise after a 5-1 hammering at Stevenage last time out.

In between those wins however the Robins thrashed League One high fliers Swindon Town 5-0 in the first round of the FA Cup, and Ainsworth said that shows to highlight the threat Cheltenham pose.

He said: "There's no reason we should be looking at this and taking it lightly, thinking Stevenage beat them 5-1, because they are a good outfit.

"I've been there a few times. I remember scoring the winner when we went there the year we were promoted, but since then it's been slim pickings at Cheltenham.

"They were play off contenders a couple of years running. Mark Yates is a good manager who knows how to get results at this level - this will be a very tough game."

He added: "The lads want to put it right. It's the first real poor performance."
