Former Wanderers captain Stuart Lewis has left the club to join Conference south side Ebbsfleet United.

The 27-year-old captained the Chairboys last season but has found his opportunities limited this term, making just eight appearances.

Lewis has been at Adams Park since joining from Dagenham & Redbridge in 2011 and he leaves with the best wishes of Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth.

He said: "Stu has been a superb servant to this club over the past four years, and we fully respect his wishes to be playing regular first-team football at this stage of his career.

“He was my captain last season and has been an important member of the squad on and off the pitch throughout his time here.

"When the opportunity arose to move to Ebbsfleet, Stu wished to pursue it and after careful consideration, we felt it was best for all parties and wish him every success with his new club.”

Lewis follows Paris Cowan-Hall out of the Adams Park exit door just four days into the January transfer window, with no new faces yet to sign for Wanderers.
