Wanderers are hoping to have injured trio Matt McClure, Hogan Ephraim and Max Kretzschmar back in the squad for the visit of York on Saturday.

Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth is hopeful he will be able to welcome the aforementioned players back into his squad alongside new signing Marcus Bean as Blues look to stretch their unbeaten league run to eight matches.

News of Bean’s arrival came early on Friday morning after the midfielder put pen to paper on an 18-month deal following his release by Colchester. The 30-year-old is a welcome addition to a squad who saw last season’s captain Stuart Lewis depart on Wednesday when he moved to Ebbsfleet United.

Saturday’s match will be a memorable occasion for home-grown talent Josh Scowen, who will be making his 100th appearance for Wanderers.

When the two sides met earlier in the season neither side could find a way through as they played out a 0-0 draw in August.

City have since changed managers, with Russ Wilcox replacing Nigel Worthington in October, with the new man overseeing four wins, four defeats and six draws since taking the hot seat.

Wilcox has a number of former Wanderers players amongst his ranks and they will not relish returning to Adams Park to face a side who have lost just three times in League Two this season.

Marvin McCoy, Dave Winfield, Lewis Montrose, Anthony Straker and Jason Mooney are all likely to be in the Minstermen’s squad for the trip to Buckinghamshire.

McCoy is a regular in the right-back berth whilst the rest of the former Blues will probably have to settle for a place on the bench as York look to add to their own unbeaten run of four matches.

New signing Bobby Olejnik is likely to be between the sticks after signing on loan from Peterborough, whilst they’ll be without the suspended Stephane Zubar and Bradley Halliday.
