Striker Paul Hayes said the Wanderers strikers need to take the burden off the defence by finding the back of the net again.

It's been two months and 11 matches since Blues scored more than once in a game, and Hayes said it's down to the defence that Wanderers managed to stay among the front runners as they ground out 1-0 wins and goalless draws.

The club captain said more goals will be needed if Wanderers are to recapture the form they showed earlier in the campaign.

Hayes said: "We need to step up to the plate as a team. We need to score more goals.

"At the moment the defence is doing incredibly well to keep lots of clean sheets and keep the scoreline down. At the other end we need to start scoring more goals as a team."
