Gareth Ainsworth will have Matt McClure available for the trip to Luton on Tuesday night after the striker completed his three match ban.

The game against the Hatters, which will be broadcast live on Sky, comes exactly three weeks after the striker was sent off 3.7 seconds after being bought on as a substitute against Tranmere.

The Blues boss does however have injury concerns over Hogan Ephraim, who has missed the last two games through illness, Max Kretzschmar and Sido Jombati.

He said: “Hogan wasn’t well on Saturday (March 14). It was a big, brave decision by Hogan and obviously we’ll wait until he’s back right.

“Sido with his ankle – we’re still assessing that and getting results from scans, and now Matt McClure will be available after his three match ban which is good news for Tuesday.”

The game against sixth place Luton was originally scheduled for Saturday but was moved in order to be shown on TV.

Playing later than the rest of League Two means Blues find themselves just one point clear of fourth place Bury, but Ainsworth was happy to have a week to prepare for the fixture after a 1-1 draw against Accrington on Tuesday night.

“Not having a fixture on Saturday is a blessing for me,” he said.

“I think three games in a week does hurt us. Having said that we have Dagenham straight after Luton so we’ll have to get the recovery boys out again on those days.

“I thought the two loanees did well and everyone has played their part in a great four points from two games. If we can keep that ratio up then we’ll have no problem getting promoted.”
