Wanderers reached the League Two play-off final after seeing off Plymouth Argyle at Adams Park on Thursday evening.

Alfie Mawson was once again one of the hosts’ standouts as he put in a commanding performance alongside Aaron Pierre. The 21-year-old won a key header at the back post to set-up Paul Hayes for the first goal before he nodded home a second.

Mawson and the rest of the defence did their bit to protect Alex Lynch but on the few occasions they couldn’t the rookie ‘keeper came to the rescue with some crucial saves. A near post stop from Zak Ansah was the pick of the bunch.

Aaron Holloway has come to the fore in recent weeks and he showed all the attributes which mark him out as someone who could play higher up the Football League. Argyle captain was glad to see the back of him after Holloway gave him the run around and was denied a goal by a fine save by Luke McCormick.
