MATT BLOOMFIELD's two well-taken goals from goalkeeping errors earned Wycombe a valuable point at high-flying Doncaster this afternoon.

Wycombe have yet to win on the road this season, and despite going ahead through Bloomfield on 19 minutes, third-placed Rovers, unbeaten at the Keepmoat all season, threatened to run riot after two well-taken first half goals.

However Bloomfield profited from a Ross Etheridge spill 13 minutes from time to tap home and earn a hard-fought point. And it could have been even better had Paris Cowan-Hall found the target from a close range header with the final action of the game.

Wycombe skipper Paul Hayes was declared fit following a thigh injury picked up in training more than a week ago, which has sidelined him from the home defeat to Barnet.

Boss Gareth Ainsworth chose to reshuffle his back in the hunt for a first win away from this season. Hayes returned to the starting line-up along with Matt Bloomfield, who replaced Adebayo Akinfenwa.

There was a return for midfielder Luke O'Nien, whose last appearance was on the opening day of the season at Crawley. The 21-year-old, who also missed six games towards the end of the season, has been out of the squad with a broken leg picked up in a scan following the Crawley match.

Central defender Will De Havilland came into the team for Anthony Stewart after impressing in training in midweek.

After a busy start, with both teams trying to play quick neat football, it was Wycombe who offered the first chance on goal after four minutes.

Following some neat inter-play down the right hand side, Paris Cowan-Hall chipped the ball into Hayes lurking on the penalty spot who, with his back to goal, flicked a header goalbound which Rovers' keeper Ross Etheridge smothered by his left-hand post.

It took a desperate piece of defending five minutes later from Chairboys' Michael Harriman who cleared a dangerous cross from Rovers' Tommy Rower inside the visitors' six yard box and right-back Niall Mason flashed the loose ball into the side-netting.

Doncaster should have taken the lead after 10 minutes and were guilty of a bad miss by skipper James Coppinger. Matty Blair's right wing cross, was flicked on by John Marquis to Coppinger at the far post and with the simplest of tap-ins the Rovers player put the ball wide.

Then, against the run of play Matt Bloomfield gave Wycombe the lead in the 19th minute.

Cowan-Hall's strong running down the right wing set up Joe Jacobson who chased the the ball to the byline. His fine cross which was spilled by keeper Etheridge under pressure from Bloomfield who, still the ground, somehow managed to acrobatically hook the ball over his head and into the goal from close range.

Nine minutes later and Doncaster were level and there was a hint of offside about the goal.

Coppinger sprinted clear of Jacobson, who seemed to be a yard in front of the Wycombe left-back when he received the ball. But lineswoman Sian Massey-Ellis was just yards from the action and waved play on. The Rovers captain pinged in a low cross and Tommy Rowe, running in, buried the ball low past keeper Jamal Blackman from 10 yards out.

Rowe deserved a second goal after 33 minutes with a fine jinking run from outside of the Wycombe penalty area. The Doncaster forward beat two men and set himself up for the shot inside the area, which deflected off Luke O'Nien and squeezed past the far post for a corner, which was eventually cleared.

Marquis then scored a sublime goal after 39 minutes with Wycombe's defence stretched.

He picked up a through ball despite a mis-timed lunge tackle from De Havilland. With Wycombe defenders backing off, the Doncaster player twisted and turned his way into the area with neat skill and he wrapped up the move with a cool finish in front of goal, rounding Blackman in the process. It was a class finish.

But for a brave header off the line from Aaron Pierre a minute from time it could have been worse as Coppinger burst clear down the left wing and crossed. Pierre headed from under his own crossbar, colliding with Dominic Gape in the process, who required treatment.

Doncaster, having been wounded by the early Wycombe goal, finished the half with their tails up. The pace of the midfield and the quickness of their passing, was leaving gaping holes in Wycombe's stretched defence as Rovers' forwards plundered the wide open spaces.

In fairness, it was no more than the League Two promotion favourites deserved.

Ainsworth threw on Adebayo Akinfenwa on at the start of the second half. The 34-year-old had a short stint at the old Belle Vue stadium during Doncaster's 2003-04 promotion season, and was warmly applauded by the Rovers' faithful when he came on for Danny Rowe.

Doncaster also substituted a Rowe - Tommy Rowe - for Alfie Beestin at the start of the second 45.

The second half settled down with very little goal mouth action.  Akinfenwa was in the action early on, and had a good shot on goal from an O'Nien knockdown, but was offside.

A 55th minute Paul Hayes free-kick came to nothing on the left-edge of the Doncaster penalty area, while at the other end Coppinger charged down a Blackman clearance, and then claimed a low cross at the feet of Marquis.

Coppinger threatened to open up Wycombe's defence three minutes later, cutting inside, but Blackman held the Rovers' captain's fierce shot well as he cut inside Jacobson. It was a dangerous moment and a crucial save since a third goal would have surely been curtains for Wycombe.

The visitors were seeing more of the ball in the second half. Akinfenwa tried a speculative overhead from Jacobson's free-kick, and his strong running and powerful frame seems to put the Doncaster defence on the back foot.

O'Nien put a decent header over the bar, after Cowan-Hall was fouled on the edge of the area in the 69th minute as Wycombe seemed to have quelled the fiery Doncaster tiger.

De Havilland was booked in the 74th minute for a clumsy challenge on half way with left two red and white hooper players forlorn on the ground.

And then in the 77th minute, Bloomfield grabbed his second goal. Cowan-Hall won possession on the edge of the area and his shot from outside the area was spilled by goalkeeper Etheridge and the Wycombe striker nipped in between two Doncaster defenders to tap home.

Akinfenwa was then in acrobatic mode with a neat turn and volley in the area from Hayes' cross, but his 80th minute shot was high and wide.

The equaliser has incensed both the Keepmoat crowd and Rovers' boss Darren Ferguson who were annoyed with Wycombe slowing down the game, and 50-50 decisions going against them. At one stage, Ferguson kicked a water bottle in frustration.

Eight minutes from time, Sam Wood came on as a substitute for O'Nien and with the clock ticking down, De Havilland almost diverted the ball into his own net after intercepting a near post cross.

Garry Thompson came on as an injury time sub for goal hero Bloomfield as Wanderers saw out the game to the delight of the travelling fans.

And yet, it could have been three points when with the last play of the game, Akinfenwa's flick on from a throw, found Paris-Hall who six yards out and with such the goalkeeper to beat, headed wide.
