Nathan Tyson gave Wycombe Wanderers a dramatic late and utterly deserved victory with a rip-roaring 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra.

Tyson smashed home an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box on 90 minutes after being put through by a glorious ball from Ebere Eze.

Michael Harriman equalised two minutes earlier when he smashed the ball home from 20 yards thanks to Tyson's cross to give Wycombe a lifeline.

It had all looked good early when Wanderers went 1-0 up on 27 minutes thanks to Craig Mackail-Smith's second goal in as many games, when he converted from Adebayo Akinfenwa's flick on.

However, four minutes before half time, Crewe skipper Chris Dagnall stabbed home from six yards after Michael Raynes knocked down Perry Ng's cross.

Then completely against the run of play on 64 minutes, Dagnall met Chris Porter's flick-on and calmly slotted the ball past Scott Brown for a barely deserved lead.

Wycombe had the first chance of the game on two minutes when Marcus Bean found Eze in the box but he flashed his effort wide from 12 yards.

The game was a pretty even affair early on but Wanderers were looking the slightly more threatening going forward and Joe Jacobson saw his long range effort parried away by Ben Garratt on 12 minutes.

Eze was looking dangerous with his running from deep and three minutes later he was played in expertly by Adebayo Akinfenwa but his shot was deflected wide.

Akinfenwa was next to his try his luck on 22 minutes as he met Scott Brown’s long kick with a firm header but Garratt was equal to it.

Wanderers then deservedly took the lead before Eze was continuing to pose the visitors problems, blazing over on 32 minutes with the Chairboys in the ascendency.

However, Crewe equalised four minutes before the break which handed the visitors an equaliser after barely threatening.

Wanderers had a good opportunity to get off to the perfect start in the second half but Adam El-Abd headed over after good work from Dan Scarr.

The lively Eze almost scored a screamer on 50 minutes but his rasping left-foot strike crashed against the crossbar.

Once again, Eze was causing havoc for the Crewe backline and he saw another good strike well held by Garratt on 54 minutes.

The home side were well on top and Scarr skied an effort over from six yards after a long ball caused panic.

Wycombe were now dominating the match and Akinfenwa’s header was cleared off the line on the hour mark after a great cross by Jacobson.

A hugely contentious decision occurred on 63 minutes when Mackail-Smith was booked after he was adjudged to have dived in the box, with the striker claiming he was fouled.

Dagnall then gave Crewe the lead against the run of play which struck the Blues into action.

Tyson came so close with 15 minutes to go but somehow Garratt kept his shot out.

Then the late onslaught and wonder strikes from Harriman and Tyson gave the Chairboys a brilliant three points.
