Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth was over the moon to see his side produce a stirring comeback from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against Crewe in the dying embers.

Wanderers were behind with three minutes to go but a brilliant equaliser from Michael Harriman and a screamer from Nathan Tyson secured maximum points for the Chairboys.

The Blues took the lead on 27 minutes when Craig Mackail-Smith netted in successive matches before a Chris Dagnall put Alex ahead against the run of play.

Ainsworth was pleased that the late goals were in his side's favour this time rather than the previous home game against Luton.

He said: "We never give up here and they don't know when they are beaten.

"That was a reverse from two weeks ago and we definitely deserved to win the game again.

"I am disappointed with the goals conceded here as they were sloppy but we scored a fantastic three goals.

"Harriman's was an excellent finish and Nathan's goal almost broke the net so I am delighted."

The manager heaped praise on Ebere Eze as the QPR loanee led Crewe a merry dance for the majority of the game.

He added: "Ebere was brilliant. He had two assists and shown people what he is all about.

"He still has a lot to learn and having him here is special. I said to him at the end this is the start of your career and he is a phenomenal talent."

Crewe's game plan was to stifle the threat of Adebayo Akinfenwa but that proved to be a slight downfall as it allowed the likes of Tyson and Mackail-Smith more space.

Ainsworth commented: "Bayo will fight and scrap for this team and he is there for the lads on and off the pitch.

"He takes the focus of two or three players and that allows the guys to get space which gets the opposition in trouble.

"However, if you don't double up on Akinfenwa you will be in trouble so it is a great conundrum we have for opposition teams."
