Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth has made a move in the transfer market to bring goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay to the club on a short-term deal.

The 31-year-old has been training with the Chairboys and has now put pen to paper until January 29, providing cover and competition for Scott Brown.

Ma-Kalambay started his career with Chelsea but moved on to Scottish side Hibernian without making a senior appearance at Stamford Bridge, and later spent time with Swansea, KV Mechelen, Royal Antwerp and most recently Romanian club Otelul Galati.

The 6’6” keeper has one under-23 international cap for Belgium and three senior caps for DR Congo to his name, and also represented Belgium at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Ainsworth said: “Yves came to our attention thanks to the excellent relationship we have with Chelsea and has a superb pedigree which will give us extra strength in the goalkeeping department.

“He’s looked very sharp in training and it will benefit us to have a second keeper on the books. Barry Richardson can’t continue as our back-up keeper forever so it makes sense to bring Yves to the club and we look forward to seeing how he gets on over the next four months.”

The deal is subject to international clearance. Ma-Kalambay will wear squad number 30.
