This week’s Opposition View comes from Harry Abbott of the Swindon Advertiser:

How have Swindon started the season?

It’s been very inconsistent. Town have been superb away from home, winning five of their seven matches, but well below their best at the County Ground, collecting just seven points of a possible 21. Given the largescale changes to the squad over the summer, this form is not overly surprising and they can still take comfort from the fact they remain within touching distance of the play-offs.

Who are your key players?

Luke Norris has started the season exceptionally up front. He has scored eight goals in all competitions already having got just six all season in 2016-17. Matt Preston is also proving a crucial addition in the heart of defence. He was only signed post-deadline day on a free transfer to cover injuries but has looked Town’s best defender.

What are the hopes for Swindon this season?

Upon David Flitcroft’s appointment at the County Ground over the summer, chairman Lee Power made it clear that the remit was to win back promotion to League One.

What are your thoughts on Wycombe?

Wycombe have started the season really well and it would be of no surprise if they finish the season in the playoffs after narrowly missing out last season. They clearly travel really well, having not lost an away game in the league so far this term, and are probably reaping the benefits of Gareth Ainsworth being at the helm for a number of years, giving him time to implement his philosophy.

Prediction?

Town are inconsistent but have only lost back to back games once.. Given they lost in midweek, I will plump for a narrow Town win – 2-1.
