MATT McClure repaid Gareth Ainsworth's faith with his first goal at Adams Park - but a hamstring problem could keep him out against Torquay tomorrow.

The youngster opened the scoring against Plymouth before the injury ended his evening prematurely.

Caretaker boss Ainsworth said he wants him to play again tomorrow but the hamstring strain could prevent that.

Asked if he would feature against the Gulls, Ainsworth said: "If he's fit, of course he will. If he's OK, everyone will agree with the way Matt's playing at the moment he warrants his place in the squad."

Ainsworth added: "Matt has been frustrated over the last year. He's had injuries, he went out on loan, he came back and scored his first professional goal and looked for all the world like he was making a step in the right direction, then just fell away a little bit.

"I've noticed things in Matt and he's deserved his chance in the first team again. I put him in and way he responded has repaid me for the faith I've shown in him.

"I'm sure there's a lot more to come from Matty. I'm really impressed with the way he took his chance."
