AMERSHAM & Chiltern RFC were left kicking their heels last weekend and they could face a similarly frustrating afternoon tomorrow as well.

They were due to travel to Oxford Harlequins and had identified the game against the National 3 South West strugglers as a potential five-pointer.

But a waterlogged pitch won the day and coach Alun Rise admits there are no certainties for tomorrow’s rearranged match.

He said: “It’s a potential five-pointer so with a bit of luck we’ll get it played.

“They’ve done a bit of work around the ground this week, but there is still a possibility it’s going to be off again.”

Amersham could do with a game after almost two weeks of next to no practice.

Rise said: “Our training pitch is very wet and soggy so there’s been no training on it and no kids’ rugby.

“We’ve got to preserve it or it will be mangled for the rest of the season, so we’ve just done a bit of gym work and ball skills inside.”
