JACK Goff will step up to the British Touring Car Championship next season.

The Stokenchurch racer will drive for Team HARD after being the first name confirmed in their 2013 line-up.

For the 21-year-old it’s a major deal after he won his first car championship last season, the Clio Cup.

Goff said: “It has always been a dream of mine to compete in the BTCC.

“Having won the Clio Cup Championship this season the next logical step was to try and get a deal for a seat in 2013 on the BTCC grid.”

Goff’s deal comes after successfully testing with the team last month.

Team principal Tony Gilham said: “We’ve been working hard to put together the perfect team and Jack was an obvious choice for us.

“His progression throughout his career has been really solid and he is developing year-on-year.

“Last year he proved he is ready to step up to into the BTCC and we are the ideal team for him to do this with.

“It’s an exciting time for us and we are taking on a huge challenge, but we have the team in place to deliver.

“Jack will be joined by some big names with huge BTCC experience, so he will be surrounded by drivers and team members looking to develop him even further. We’re really looking forward to having him in the team.”

Goff said: “Tony and the guys at Team HARD. put an offer on the table for 2013 that fits in perfect for my plans and my future.”

The first round takes place at Brands Hatch in March, before returning to Kent for the final round in October.
